Funding to support and enhance elementary space science education was provided through the
Structure and Evolution of the Universe division and Origins program of the NASA Office of Space Science.
Supported by Education/Public Outreach grants associated with AO2 Guest Observer Program, A Survey of Radio Quiet Z>4 Quasars, and AO3 Guest Observer Program,  The Pattern of Heavy Element Abundance in a High Redshift Galaxy, conducted by Dr. Jill Bechtold of the University of Arizona.
Supported by Hubble Space Telescope Cycle 10 Education/Public Outreach  Project, associated with HST Chandra Guest Observer programs conducted by Dr. Jill Bechtold, Dr. Paul Smith, Dr. Dean Hines and Dr. Don Garnett, of the University of Arizona, and Dr. Martin Elvis of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
These E/PO grants from NASA provide opportunities for elementary classroom teachers to:
 * Develop expertise in astronomy and physical science to encourage active learning
 * Create engaging instructional materials for hands-on science
 * Share expertise and resources with others
